Cegedim launches new clinical decision support app to support safe and effective care

Mobile app enables pharmacies and GPs to safely select and prescribe medicines

Cegedim UK has launched a new mobile app for healthcare professionals, showcasing its powerful clinical decision support web-services which enable pharmacies and GPs to safely select, prescribe and dispense medicines for patients.

The app brings together technology and data to demonstrate the novel capabilities of Cegedim’s solutions to support clinicians, solutions providers and healthcare providers to provide safe and effective care in a scalable and cost-effective package.

The new online application is aimed at GPs, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals and provides access to up-to-date, unbiased and reliable medical information, for optimum clinical decision-making.

The app references Cegedim’s drug database, curated to DM&D NHS standards and offers essential product-level data that is regularly updated to ensure accurate information is readily available to healthcare professionals.

With an easy-to-use interface, users can access a full set of details about specific drugs, including indications, contraindications, side effects, cautions of use and appropriate dosages.

This standalone application is free to use and does not require registration, allowing users to explore the app and its content with ease.

The navigation is seamless, with a search-bar functionality and pages displaying clear and concise medical information across a vast age spectrum; from young children to the elderly with recommendations and risks to be aware of.

Cegedim UK’s group managing director, Steve Bradley, said: “Having successfully supported Cegedim’s UK solutions for over a decade the technology behind the app is now available for the healthcare technology market to use to deliver innovation to patients, clinicians and providers.
